Fear is here, and it’s real. And I’m convinced it’s here for good reason. It actually performs a useful function, so let’s flip that fear into something useful.
Fear is your reminder to pay attention, take caution, and be alert. Our problems start when fear becomes our stop sign. Let’s redefine fear; It’s a yield sign, not a stop sign.
Fear will continue to debilitate your life until you FLIP IT. Flip what fear actually means to you, thereby flipping what you do with it. I got really good at ignoring fear. I was the best at it! I was a master diverter. But it kept rearing its ugly head for me to finally face it.
It helps me to stop and get straight on the facts. What’s true and what’s not true? When you break down and disassemble the thing that you fear, you’ll soon realize that the thing you’re fearing doesn’t even exist! When you line up the facts, you’ll always realize that fear isn’t based in reality.
What you fear will or won’t happen hasn’t yet arrived. So, it’s not real! That monster you fear is actually an extended shadow of a little mouse!
There’s no way around this fear thing. You can’t dance around it, dodge it, or pretend it’s not there. You simply go through it. So, let’s flip what you’re making fear mean, and it will become much more palatable and penetrable.
If you don’t sacrifice for what you want, then the things you want will become your sacrifice.
Stop overanalyzing. When push comes to shove, you simply feel the fear and do it anyway. Those who don’t, lose. Those who do, win. Move your legs. Your legs are your best weapons.
I’ll give you my Roberto’s guarantee: When you feel the fear and then do it anyway, it will be like riding that roller coaster ride. You know, the ride you refused to get on a hundred times earlier. When you finally get the nerve to ride it, and it finishes, you’ll sigh and comment, “That wasn’t nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be; let’s do it again!”
